My painting is a homage to Herbert Hildebrandt, co-founder, bassist and composer of the band „The Rattles“, whose famous career began in the legendary „Star-Club“ in Hamburg in the early sixties, where they played as a supporting act of „The Beatles“. Musical genius as he was, he composed among others their unforgettable world hit „The Witch“.

In memory of the gorgeous sixties I created my work as a kind of pop art painting, using achromatic colours in a striking way with hard shadows and sharp outlines, so that the picture is reminiscent of an old record cover of these wonderful days long ago…
