Missouri artist and chef H.J. Schumer can usually be found wielding either a camera, paint brush or a spatula, creating delectable works of art on both canvas and plate. His paintings and photos have been shown in local and East Coast galleries, featured in national competitions including Watercolor U.S.A. and PhotoSpiva, and included in multiple regional and local juried exhibitions.

Chef H.J.’s plated presentations have been photographed by professional commercial food photographers for advertising campaigns for international foodservice corporations.

When he’s not taking pictures, painting or cooking, H.J. is usually working on the 10-acre horse “farmette” with his wife, or out playing with their pack of rescued shaggy hounds.
