Jörg Kuplens
Germany, Berlin-Kreuzberg
Jörg Kuplens is a German painter and draftsman whose works have been exhibited both nationally and in Austria. He describes his art as moving steadily on the border between representationalism and abstraction, whereby nature, down to its smallest structural units, acts as an indirect supply of motifs and a source of inspiration. Kuplens' graphic and painterly compositions are created using India ink, pencils, acrylics, and oils on paper or canvas.
My aim is to present an adequate formal language in order to visualize such tense or tense 'encounters' in pictures - to point them out, to problematize them, also to criticize them, but above all to sensitize the viewer. Chosen as a conscious counterpart to the current, fast-moving product and media-controlled existence
Nature is an existential and essential part of my artistic work. Getting involved in your surroundings always means taking more than just a little distance from everyday life and being ready to immerse yourself in new worlds. This world of motifs, which in addition to the aesthetic moment invites the viewer to work out its content, is of great importance to me.
