I was born and raised in Greece, however, I later moved to Scotland to pursue a degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. My passion for biology has inspired me to shed light on the intricate and dynamic microscopic world through my artworks. Moreover, I urge us to question our limited perception of beauty by depicting unique, distorted or exaggerated portraits. For this purpose, I also incorporate  insects in my artworks to represent our innate and unjust repulsion to creatures that do not resemble humans or do not radiate ‘cuteness.' I have experimented with various art mediums but I mostly use acrylic paint and inks, oil pastels and pens.
