RED HOT ANTIQUITY

RED HOT is one my early oils on canvas with the focus on the central figure painted in red/orange suggesting that perhaps the viewer is in a museum filled with marble statues and is looking at the back of a male from ancient times missing both legs and his right arm. The statues from those times we see in museums are of course not clad in such vivid colours although at the time this statue was carved it was probably painted (as were most) a vibrant colour.
