“The river channel meanders through wide tidal freshwater marshes of cattail and edges, with stands of salt marsh cordgrass along the upper banks.

The Freshwater Marsh is a special natural sanctuary where treasured childhood memories are of my grandparents, mergansers, and me. A childhood memory many people don't have is the amazing experience of growing up with time spent on a farm in rural Georgia.--

Vibrant hues of green, with tiny brown leaves beautifully pressed down by the last night's rain. You hear a faint rustle in the trees--this is definitely nature at its finest.

The Freshwater Marsh reminds us to slow down and enjoy life beside a peaceful pond.
